I posted this a while ago but it was nested inside a post about something else. This morning, I couldn’t remember the easy way to make puckered stars in Illustrator and went foraging for this cheat sheet. It’s very handy and needs its own page. Here’s the link to the pdf:
I went and looked at your pdf about the stars, Elly – great stuff! I do similar stuff on Inkscape. I love vector drawing. It’s a tough learning curve and I often make stupid mistakes but my recent marathon project, designing all those stencils and masks, has taught me a lot.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments when you visited my blog! Also for your very kind words. I thank God that I got through my bowel cancer and feel so much for the people who don’t, and for their families… What great work Deborah James did to raise awareness.
I loved your description of the bumble bees! Lol! One of my very favourite projects that I made years ago for a beekeeping friend celebrated all aspects of bees in a fun way (honey, not bumble in this case) – you can see the pictures on my Flickr page here:

My Flickr is seriously out of date. I need to upload my more recent stuff. Perhaps it would generate a bit more traffic to my blog!
The Indian mirror work is called shisha. I love doing it. It was on my wedding dress and my bridesmaids’ headdresses were covered with it, and loads of bright colours too!
I also visited a sari shop years ago in the Midlands and loved it. Nobody can touch India for textiles!
Your lovely comment on wabi-sabi really sparked me off onto a train of thought and I really enjoyed putting my thoughts down in that post. The trouble is, most people’s priorities are way off these days and they don’t know how to fill the imperfections with gold!
Now I’ve finished my stencil project I am keen to get on with my gel press. I am hoping to be able to produce lots of beautiful papers to use in my art journal projects – I am being so inspired by several online artists and tend to binge-watch them while eating my breakfast lol!
You are such an encouragement to me – thank you so much for all your lovely visits and comments. You are pretty much the only person who visits my blog these days. xx
